Auto-Tune the News #8: dragons. geese. Michael Vick. (ft. T-Pain)
I’ve been around the production of some viral videos, and the production of a lot of live shows. People who don’t produce entertainment have no idea the work that goes into a tight 90 seconds.
These guys have done that, but they’ve done soemthing else, gone a step further. They’re doing it again and again, and each one is better than the last.
I realize that these videos are small amusements. I don’t want to call them inconsequental—all entertainment is inconsequential…that’s the point—but I think that the series of them coming out like this does teach a lesson. (A lesson for artists, I mean; the civics lesson that our federal legislature is ridiculous cannot be taught enough and could not be more timely.)
An artist (I’m not going to use the twee San Francisco word “maker”, which is stupid) is not the person who has done something awesome. They’re the person who will do something awesome tomorrow.
